This week we will be joined by Rabbi Margot Stein, who will talk with us about "The Ethics of Money."

What is the Torah of Money?  The underlying questions concerning the place of money in the scheme of a good life are permanent and pressing.  Jewish thought suggests that money and possessions are good, because for most people, material sufficiency is a prerequisite to the service of G-d and others.  How do we balance competing values?  How do we prioritize tzedakah allocations?  How do we reconcile the desire to acquire and the drive to give?

Rabbi Margot Stein has been teaching in the Gratz College Florence Melton Adult Mini-School for 9 years.  She was part of the international team that revised and piloted the new Ethics curriculum and participated with International Director Yonatan Mirvis in a series of classes on Social Entrepreneurship.  Margot composes and sings with the a cappella trio MIRAJ and has 7 albums of original Jewish music to her credit.  She helps families create meaningful life cycle ceremonies that meet their unique needs.
